Bob and Diana took a long trip in Bob’s 4-place prototype this fall. They stopped by several small and interesting airports in West Virginia on their way to the Wentworth Aerodrome (WAD) fly-in in New Hampshire. While passing through Pennsylvania, Bob checked in on the Pietenpol he built many years ago, now owned by Larry Knapp.


At the WAD event they met up with Bearhawk owners Tyson Sawyer and Emilie Phillips, and Bearhawk builders Dave and Laura Lenart.

The WAD event was a great time. RAF New Hampshire Liaison John Meade, and Massachusetts Liaison Rene Robillard helped organize several optional fly-outs. The Bearhawks went to Post Mills airport (2B9), featuring a great unofficial museum and hot air balloons.


After the WAD event, Bob and Diana flew to Rockland Maine. The Owlhead Museum housed the only moose they saw on the trip (photo above). They had a wonderful time eating lobster and fresh seafood. They stopped by Bob’s home town of Pittsfield, Massachusetts, and visited with his brother.
