The weather wasn’t ideal for Bob’s fly-in this year on October 20th, but the turnout was still pretty good. Chuck Morris flew his red and white Bearhawk 4-Place in from Michigan a few days prior. Patrol builder Brooks Cone drove in, also from Michigan but not coordinated with Chuck, to pick up the engine that Bob just finished building for his project.
Stephen and Monica Murphey drove in from South Carolina, and Tabitha and Jared Yates came from North Carolina with their kids. Patrol “Repeat Offender” Don Aldridge was there, as was Dallas Shell. The framework for Bob’s ultralight wing was hanging up from the ceiling in his workshop. It is coming along nicely.

WAD Fly-In, New Hampshire
Earlier in October, Bob and Diana flew to New Hampshire for the WAD fly-in, travelling in Bob’s LSA. They stayed with Dave and Laura Lenart for one night, and met up with Bearhawk flyer Tyson Saywer.
One day opened up a weather opportunity to visit Mt. Washington (summit pictured), where the winds are usually too strong to fly comfortably.
They arrived in New Hampshire before the crowd, but in the following days over 40 other airplanes arrived. The Bearhawks were in good company with Super Cubs and the various “Cub Cousins.” They also took a day trip to see a large scale industrial potato farm, because, who wouldn’t?
