Dear Bob,
This letter is to inform you that through the set of plans I bought from you around February 1996, finally came to fruition on March 15, 2007 (11 years!). I used a DAR from Brandon,Ms on May 2, 2007, and flew the aircraft the next day. It is very stable and flies hands off – straight and level. Engine is a Lycoming O-540 pulling a fixed pitch propeller. I’ve got most of the hours flown off, and am looking forward to some longer trips. The plans were easy to interpret and follow.

Ernie Green —
Here are some pictures of Ernie Green’s plans built Bearhawk project. Ernie has plans # 49 purchased in 1995. Ernie is finally making good progress on his project since his retirement one year ago. Ernie’s former job was welding/repairing aircraft carrier (ours) arresting hooks and catapults. Then for a time Ernie welded parts for the jet engines used in current military planes. This was welding exotic materials like titanium and stainless. Now that Ernie isn’t traveling the world fixing aircraft carriers, he has his wings completely finished with wing strut ends he milled from 7075. His fuselage is pretty well along also. Ernie TIG welded his fuselage, and made his Bob Barrows tailwheel. He still needs to make his boot cowl and cowling. The only parts Ernie hasn’t made himself are the seats and O-470 engine mount which he purchased from AviPro. The 230 SMOH (with chrome cylinders) O-470 Ernie plans to use was purchased for $3500 – along with a Hartzell 82” two blade prop. Don’t we all wish we could find bargains like that.
