Source: 2015 Q2 Beartracks

There were a few Bearhawk folks at the 2015 Sun-n-Fun fly-in at Lakeland, Florida. LSA builders Jerry Cornwell and Bill Stratton set up camp with appropriate decorations (pictured right). Scratch builder Mike Swain was tent camping with his especially adventurous and supportive wife, young daughter, and weeks-old infant son. Mike suggested an informal Bearhawk gathering, which happened on Friday evening at the Recreational Aviation Foundation’s fire ring. Tiffany Stephansen, 4-place scratch builder, stopped by after a shift of volunteer work at the avionics workshop. 4-place builder Jared Yates drove in for the gathering, already being in Florida on other business. Jerry and Bill brought a photo album full of LSA pictures. They are building two airplanes somewhat simultaneously, and have created some clever solutions to various minor building challenges. Hopefully some of those will make it into a Beartracks issue soon. Everyone had a great time looking through the pictures and hearing about their progress. Thanks to Mike for organizing initiative! It’s always fun to meet fellow Bearhawk folks.
